As I pre-announced in the previous news, Mars is not doomed to be unfinished and abandoned, instead it will be one of the main games of Lowpoly Studios.

If you want to stay updated about the game development and all the other projects, you can follow the company twitter account: @LowpolyStudios

You can also join our IRC channel #lowpol-studios on Freenode.net or use the webchat to stay in touch.

Present and future of Mars

How everybody can notice, we have not been working on Mars in the past months (year), and unfortunately, the situation  is not going to change in the next few months. The main problem was I had not enough time to dedicate to Mars while I was working on my master thesis and I had the same problem when I moved to the UK for work. Now I'm busy with other stuff and it's the same for all the other main developers, so this project is officially freezed.

The good news is that I've decided to renew the marsnomercy.org domain for another year, mostly because I hope I/we'll be able to restart to work on Mars next year, maybe from scratch, maybe using an indie model of development, I don't know yet. The only sure thing is that I spent a lot of hours working on Mars, and few other guys did the same, so I don't want to waste all our efforts and time! I really hope to have a finished Mars some day!

A good news (well, for me, at least...)

Thanks to the great support of my team (especially from dekki) I've found a job in the game industry, now I'm a Junior Engineer (so, a code monkey, thanks dekki...) at the Curve Studios (London, England).

The second good news (for everybody) is that my contract allows me to work on everything I want during my spare tim, so this means that I can work on Mars with no problems regarding copyrights and similar legal stuff. All I need now is to complete my relocation process, then I'll be able to come back to the development as in the past.

M3xican is on a two week job interview run and vacation in the UK.

Me and the rest of the team wish him good luck and hopefully he will be the latest addition to a game house. As a code monkey of course :)
